Artstor: Organize Images

Using Image Groups in Artstor

Make groups

After you have performed your search, your next step would be to make an image group. This is a way to download a lot of images at once and/or share a group of images with students and colleagues.

Click on the thumbnails boxes to add images to a group.

Sharing Groups

Once you have selected the images you want to add to a group, navigate to Organize > Save Selections to New Image Group or Save Selections to Existing Image Group

You can also add images to your personal collection.

From here you can add a Title, Description, and Tags to your image group. You can also select if your collection is shared with your institution or is kept private.

Organize groups

Groups are now viewable to everyone logged into your institution. Since everyone can see them, it is helpful to name the group using a full title.

Using Tags

The new Artstor platform uses tags to organizes image groups. Tags act as a filter and replicate Artstor's old "folder view" for groups. If you are faculty, it can be helpful to tag groups with the class name or number and your name, so students can find all your groups easily.
