Q: Using One Search, how can I find Graphic Novels?
It's true: we do have a lot of graphic novels, as well as comics, and scholarly works about both graphic novels and comics. Here is a genre search in Discovery which targets graphic novels and comics:

If you don't run a lot of lists in the ILS, it can be easy to forget how to do it. In the old system, Millennium, there was a button in the left sidebar for "create lists". In Sierra, this is in the "Function" drop-down menu:
Choosing "CREATE LISTS" will pull up a list of review files. Select an empty review file (see the column marked "status"); click SEARCH RECORDS.
CLASSIC SEARCH -- this looks much like the interface in Millennium.
ENHANCED SEARCH -- this works like the classic search, but may be more intuitive for those with less experience with the "old way"
JSON -- this allows you to paste in the code of a previously used search -- therefore: if you compose the "perfect search" for something you only have to find once per year, you should save this code to use again as needed.
