Find many educational documentaries, digital shorts, and videos from PBS. Some feature films require a membership, but most streaming videos are open access. Influenza 1918 that aired in January 2018 and many others can be watched anytime.

This project by Arizona State University is a work in progress. Because the films are its essential asset, we have made them available before the rest of the website is available. A list of films, arranged alphabetically by tribe, may be found under the "Films" tab above. You can also search regionally on a map of North America or Latin America. Ken Burns and his collaborators have been creating historical documentary films for more than forty years. Known for a signature style that brings primary source documents, images, and archival video footage to life on screen, these films present the opportunity to pose thought-provoking questions for students, and introduce new ideas, perspectives, and primary sources.

Download or listen to free movies, films, and videos. This library contains digital movies uploaded by Archive users which range from classic full-length films, to daily alternative news broadcasts, to cartoons and concerts. Many of these videos are available for free download.

PBS and our member stations are America’s largest classroom, the nation’s largest stage for the arts and a trusted window to the world. Most of PBS's educational media is freely available for streaming. However, some dramas and films require a membership.

POV (a cinema term for “point of view”) is television’s longest-running showcase for independent non-fiction films. POV premieres 14-16 of the best, boldest and most innovative programs every year on PBS. Since 1988, POV has presented over 500 films to public television audiences across the country. POV films are known for their intimacy, their unforgettable storytelling and their timeliness, putting a human face on contemporary social issues.

DOE ScienceCinema is a multimedia search tool provided by the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Scientific and Technical Information, with over 3,000 video and audio files produced by DOE National Laboratories, other DOE research facilities, and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). By using innovative, state-of-the-art audio indexing and speech recognition technology from IBM Watson to allow users to quickly find video and audio files, DOE ScienceCinema delivers the precision searching already common in text-based databases. Users can search for specific words and phrases, and precise snippets of the video where the search term was spoken will appear along with a timestamp.

The TED-Ed project — TED's education initiative — makes short video lessons worth sharing, aimed at educators and students. Within TED-Ed’s growing library of lessons, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which are collaborations between educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed platform.
