Please note:   Original photographs and negatives are stored in an off-site cold storage facility.  Patrons should provide notice at least two business days prior to a prospective visit so that staff may acclimate images to normal temperatures and transfer requested items to the Special Collections Reading Room.  Please contact Special Collections at (662) 915-7408 to specify requested material.

Martin Dain Collection.   Contains photographs of Parchman Penitentiary taken by New York photographer Martin Dain in 1961-62.

Carolyn Haines Collection.  Includes 35 mm negatives of photographs taken by Carolyn Haines at Parchman Penitentiary in 1974 and again in 1977.

Bern Keating Collection.  Possesses photographs and accompanying 1962 article by Bern Keating on conjugal visitation at Parchman Penitentiary.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Collection.  Photographs taken by the Mississippi Highway Patrol of events surrounding the 1962 integration of the University of Mississippi (1 box).

Martha Alice Stewart, Time on Parchman Farm.   1895-1939.  Includes over two hundred photographs documenting life inside Parchman Penitentiary by the Head Nurse in the 1930s (2 boxes and 1 oversized item).  Photographs available as a digital collection.
