Scroll past the image until you see the UM Libraries search box. At the bottom of the box, the third option from the left is "Databases." Click on "Databases."
Now that you are on the database A-Z page, click on "S" and scroll down the list of "S" databases until you find SRDS.
The banner at the top left of the SRDS homepage provides a direct search by media type. If you know the type of media you are searching for you can select it. UM Libraries' users have access to the Print, Digital, TV, or Audio options.
Use the default search box below the banner on the left side of the page, if you aren't sure which media types you are interested in viewing.
For this example, we'll type the Memphis Business Journal into the search box.
When looking at items in the results list you'll see the title of the result, with a short descriptive blurb about the item below, and below that you'll see the media type.
In this example, the first result for the Memphis Business Journal is a Business Publication, like a magazine or journal, and the second result is a Business National Website.
Let's click on the Business Publication. You'll notice multiple sections that you can click on and expand. The available sections for most publications are: General Information, Contacts & Reps, Circulation, Rates & Policies, and Issues & Specs.
Under the Circulation section, you'll often find the number of subscribers across multiple categories.
Under Rates & Policies, you'll find the cost to advertise by advertising opportunity.
Most website results will have an Audience Metrics section.
On the right hand side of the home page, under Resources, you'll find maps and projected rates for various types of media, those categories are: DMA Profiles, DMA Maps, MSA Maps, Calculators, University Projected Rates TV, University Projected Rates Radio, and Broadcast Category Spend.
