Searching in Google Scholar
Step 1: UM Libraries Homepage Google Scholar Search
Go to libraries.olemiss.edu. Scroll down to the search bar in the middle of the page, and click on the Google Scholar button. This will allow us to search for scholarly research from sources such as: articles, theses, books, and more.

Step 2: Enter Search Terms
Type your search terms into the search box and press enter. In this example, we are going to search for "football concussions."

Step 3: Results
We got over 20,000 results! We can use the limiters on the left hand side of the results page to narrow the search by time. Also, we can sort the results list by relevance or by date.
Step 4: Accessing the full text of an item
To access the full text of an item thought UM Libraries, click Full-Text @ U Mississippi. This option will be found to the right of the result.
Not every result in Google Scholar will be available through UM Libraries. Some items will be available through other places such as government (.gov) or non-UM university websites (.edu).
Step 5: Citing an article
Click the quotation marks under the article result to generate a citation for the article.

You can copy and paste the citation into your bibliography, reference list, or works cited page.
Step 6: Cited by
Click on Cited by underneath the result to see other publications that have cited this article.
