Use these terms in conjunction with scripture references to find articles and book chapters that reflect the perspective you are studying.
- "feminist" -- Critical perspective focused on women's experience and the place of women. Sometimes considered to represent the specific concerns of white, middle class women in North America.
- "womanist" -- Critical perspective focused on the experiences and place of women of color or women from countries other than North America.
- "masculinity" -- Critical perspective focused on the experiences and expectations of men.
- "sex role" -- Analysis of gender specific expectations.
When searching for a specific person in the Bible, include "biblical figure" in your subject search.
If the person is considered a saint by the Roman Catholic Church, include "saint" in your subject search.
