Basic Information about Reserves
Course reserves are materials placed temporarily on reserve by instructors for their courses. It is anticipated that there will be high demand for these items so they are placed on reserve to allow all users equal access.
There are two types of Reserves commonly available in academic libraries, Print Reserves and eReserves. The University of Mississippi Libraries offers print reserves only.
Print reserves are in hard, print copy form. Students must go to the library where the instructor has placed materials for a class and check them out, generally for a brief loan period. Reserves can also be in many formats including books, articles, old tests, DVD/VHS/CD, flash drives, etc. They can be library owned materials or materials owned by the professor or the department.
To learn more about Using Print Reserves click on the Using Print Reserves tab. To access your class reserve materials, go to Course Reserves.
