When reviewing resources, through databases or through open websites, you can review the following as you consider using it:
- Currency: Review the date of the material, see if it was revised, is this current for the topic being research?
- Relevancy: Review the intended audience, does this fit the topic or question being research?
- Authority: Who or what created the work, was there credential/qualification information, is there contact information?
- Accuracy: Review for possible biased, is information verifiable, does it feature misspellings or grammatical errors?
- Purpose:For what reson was the resource produced (persuade, information, teach, etc.)?
